Avoid The Toxic Sunscreen and Try Coconut Oil Instead

This is very interesting, considering that really the only thing I’m violently allergic to is sunscreen (especially SPF 30+). In fact so is my mother, who has had minor (treatable) skin “cancers” on her hands and such for quite a while which her doctors have attributed to no longer available but once commonly used hand creams for women.)

I’m not saying sunscreen is bad for you, I’m just saying that skin cancer statistics have risen hugely since the common usage of sunscreen and my 90 year old beach model grandmother who never used it in her life until her 80’s who, truthfully had only 3 or 4 minor skin cancers on her hands in her life, has lived just fine after spending almost every day of her life in the scalding Australian sun. Nowadays, a sunburn makes everyone panic that that mole on their back is a melanoma. To be honest, I think moderate exposure to necessary, Vitamin D providing sunlight is better and healthier than slathering chemical compounded creams all over ourselves every time the sun comes out from behind a cloud.
I mean, if the sun did so much damage to us every day, why are only very few companies capitalising on our fear of melanoma-based cancer? I feel like it should be more of an issue than it is, if indeed this cancer-hysteria is actually fact based.

(Btw I’m not saying that melanoma is not a killer, because it is. But I do believe that it is just as random as any other cancer. I do believe in moderate sun exposure and am against tanning. What I disagree with is covering oneself with chemicals to avoid the slight chance of cancer. OMG THE BOTTLE OF THIS THING SAYS THAT HAS 45 INGREDIENTS THAT REDUCES YOUR RISK OF CANCER!!! Does anyone see the flaw in that sentence?)

Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world.

Coconut oil is mostly used for tanning.

Vitamin D is necessary, but there is no such thing as a healthy tan.

Anyone who has been burnt multiple times has a much higher risk of skin cancer.

Please don’t buy into this stuff.

Australians tan a huge amount, but show me statistics from every other country that has equatorial or sub-equatorial locations. How are the skin cancer rates in Argentina or Tonga?)
Coconut oil is used for many reasons in skin care, in the area of skin tanning it is used as a natural bronzer AND acts as a skin protector (though it is not ideal, for those who ignore consequences, if you cover yourself in coconut oil every day and lie in the sun, this will NOT protect yourself from the sun)
Vitamin D is needed, a tan is never needed, but is not going to kill you, if it is moderated.
Many BURNS (not small tans) will cause skin cancer. That is not to say that every tan or sunburn will result in skin cancer. Anybody exposed to excessive radiation is more susceptible to cancers than someone who is not.

I am simply saying that covering yourself in chemicals is no better than exposing yourself to the sun’s radiation. They are both damaging.

'Covering yourself in chemicals?' Hate to break it to you, but everything is chemicals. Coconut oil is chemicals. 'Natural' isn't necessarily synonymous with 'good.' Those sun screen lotions were trialled and tested and developed over time.
The reason why Australia has a high rate of skin cancer is that we are mostly white and have a big outdoors culture so we burn easy.
I understand that you’re allergic to most of the sunblock so you’re probably bitter about the whole experience but you can get sensitive skin sunscreen. Just check out the cancer council.
Sorry, this stuff kinda got drilled into me after my grandma got melanoma.
